Here is a step by step guide to install Facebook pixel on your WordPress website or other CMS based websites.
In order to access Facebook’s pixel and use it, you must have an account at www.business.facebook.com. An active ad account or a business page is also recommended. Once you have all these basics with you ready then you have to log in to your Facebook for business account and navigate to Data Source from the left pane or click here to find the page.
After having discovered the Facebook pixel tab, now we will create a new pixel property for your website by navigating to Add button. Click on the Add button to find a pop-up screen.
When you click continue a similar pop up will appear, make sure you click on “Set up your pixel now” (see img #3) in the next pop up. It will again pop up another similar window where you will be prompted to choose your website platform. If you are on a CMS based website then click on the first option that says “Add code using a partner integration” (see img #4)
The pre-installation process will now ask you to choose your CMS. You will be prompted to choose from a wide range of choices starting from WordPress to Joomla and Shopify. Partner integration offers a smooth installation process to the websites built using the following CMSs and frameworks.
- BigCommerce
- Drupal
- Joomla
- Kajabi
- Magento CMS
- OpenCart
- Prestashop
- Shopify
- Squarespace
- Webflow
- Wix
- WordPress / Woocommerce
Finalizing your Facebook pixel installation
Facebook offers two different plugins for WordPress. One of the Facebook Pixel installation plugins is dedicated to WordPress and the other one is blended for Woocommerce and WordPress both. For a WooCommerce website, it is strongly recommended to install the Woocommerce plugin instead of WordPress only. The WooCommerce plugin helps to sync your products from WordPress to your Facebook shop. It will synchronize your shop data on the Facebook business page and further, it will also be visible from your Instagram shopping if you have an approved shop. Thus minimizing your additional tasks to pull your shopping data from your WooCommerce to Facebook shop.
After choosing the right CMS follow the simple steps displayed in the pop-up.
