Paypal Payments in India

PayPal Holdings Inc will end its domestic payments business in India from April 1, the company said in a statement on Friday. PayPal will now continue to focus more on the cross-border payments business. This means that customers around the world can continue to use this service to pay merchants in India.

“From April 1, 2021, we will focus our efforts on enabling more international sales of Indian companies and shift our focus from domestic products in India,” the company said.

“This means that from April 1st, PayPal will no longer offer domestic payment services in India.”

PayPal was a payment option for many Indian online apps, including travel and ticketing service MakeMyTrip, online movie booking app BookMyShow, food delivery app Swiggy and more.
