Motorola Edge 50: The Slimmest Military-Grade Smartphone.

Motorola has announced their new Motorola Edge 50 as the world’s slimmest military-grade smartphone. In a highly competitive race for innovation in smartphone industries (excluding Apple). Firms like Motorola, Vivo, Oppo, and more are now focusing on their smartphone rigidity. With this deviation, smartphone makers have found a new way to make an appearance in the Indian Market. Last Month Oppo Came up with their Oppo F27 ad campaign #DareToFlaunt promoting their phone’s toughness. To compete with Motorola is now coming with a new phone in its popular Edge series lineup.

Motorola Claims after dropping a teaser that their new Motorola Edge 50 will be the “world’s slimmest military grade phone”. In simple terms, this handset will be the slimmest one to have MIL-STD-810 certification. How slim? Well as per rumours this handset will pack everything within its 8.1mm thickness.

Design and Build

With a slim form factor of  8.1mm, the smartphone will weigh around 171 to 175 grams. The material of the frame is aluminum but the protection on the front is still not clear whether it is gorilla glass 3, 5, or Victus. The handset will similar to its predecessor come with an IP68 rating. May be available in these 4 colors: Jungle Green, Pantone Peach Fuzz, and Koala Grey.

Display

As per the rumors, there will be no change in Display from its predecessor Edge 40. Same P-OLED technology, 6.6 inches 1.5k display in 20:9 aspect ratio, 144Hz refresh rate, with the support of 10-bit colors and HDR 10+ and a peak brightness of 1900 nits. Display-wise it is a very good display for binge-watching or video editing. With a cherry on top it has a water touch display means no more interruption due to water droplets on the screen.

Performance of Motorola Edge 50

With a new improved processor Snapdragon 7 Gen 1,  Motorola Edge 50 can surely do day-to-day tasks easily. Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 comes with a flagship 4nm technology which will make it energy efficient providing a day-long battery life. Gaming-wise no doubt for the best gaming performance, it is capable of handling games without any lag and frame drops. Pair with either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 256 gigs of storage.

Camera

The rumors tell us that the Motorola New Edge 50 will have a better triple camera setup at the back. A primary sensor of 50mp (Sony-LYTIATM 700C) with 1 nanometer of pixel size, ultrawide of 13mp, and a 10mp telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The primary sensor will support OIS and pack some better Autofocus technology than last year.

Battery and Charging

This is interesting because despite being of 8.1 mm slimm profile the phone however will pack huge a 5000mAh battery. In this segment, it may be the only phone to have wireless charging that supports up to 15 watts and wired up to 68 watts.

Expected Launch Of Motorola Edge 50

Motorola hasn’t confined anything in its teaser. However, the phone will be launching around in August first week as per rumors as Edge 40 its predecessor was launched the previous year in September.

Motorola Edge 50, crafted for the bold is claiming to be the world’s slimmest phone with  MIL-810H military grading and a Powerful Sony-LYTIA 700C image sensor is launching on 1st August 2024 on Flipkart in India.

The smartphone industry is at its peak right now with new phones being announced every week. It is better to wait if you want to have a value-for-money deal. There is no doubt, that this is indeed a good phone but as the competition rises with others Motorola surely prices it at some good value.
