Fossil’s LTE-enabled smartwatch is now only available from Verizon. To date, the company has had great success in producing stylish Wear OS-powered smartwatches.

The smartwatch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform and comes with 8GB of storage. The 44mm body has a 1.3-inch screen and the watch is offered in a black or pink colour scheme. When connected to Verizon’s LTE network, it has a 400mAh battery that promises 20 hours of use or up to 3 days of standby time. Gen 5 LTE allows you to make and receive calls without a tethered smartphone.

Fossil’s Gen5 also has a rotating centre button for scrolling menus. It also features fitness tracking, sleep tracking, and heart rate monitoring for a fully customizable battery-saving mode. NFC has Google Pay enabled and the Google Assistant is built into Wear OS.

Fossil Gen5 LTE has replaced Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro LTE as the only LTE-connected smartwatch offered by carriers on the Wear OS platform. Unfortunately, Fossil Gen5 doesn’t have Qualcomm’s new wearable chipset. The Pro Mobvoi TicWatch 3 is an OS watch worn only by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100 and LTE variants that have not yet been announced for the United States.
